Reality is the strip malls of Burbank, the smokestacks of Cleveland, a parking garage in Newark. Fantasy is the towers of Minas Tirith, the ancient stones of Gormenghast, the halls of Camelot. Fantasy flies on the wings of Icarus, reality on Southwest Airlines. Why do our dreams become so much smaller when they finally come true? We read fantasy to find the colors again, I think. To taste strong spices and hear the songs the sirens sang. There is something old and true in fantasy that speaks to something deep within us, to the child who dreamt that one day he would hunt the forests of the night, and feast beneath the hollow hills, and find a love to last forever somewhere south of Oz and north of Shangri-La.They can keep their heaven. The objective of the SurfaceScapes project is to create a proof-of-concept for playing tabletop role-playing games on the Microsoft Surface Table. We will be using Dungeons and Dragons as a basis for our prototype, with the option for future expansion to other role-playing games. SurfaceScapes will provide Game Masters and players with a set of features to enhance the combat and role-playing aspects of tabletop games. This will include the ability to interact with the digital environment using real objects such as miniatures and provide automated calculations and visual and audio feedback for actions performed by the player and non-player characters. We are taking traditional tabletop role-playing games to the next level, adding a new layer of immersive and intuitive gaming to the Microsoft Surface Table and assisting both GMs and players in enjoying exciting and engaging adventures.

Un ulteriore appunto riguardante l’avventura rivolto a tutto il gruppo:  Non tutto è come sembra, cercate di andare più affondo anche perchè fin d’ora nessuno si è mai aggiudicato dei punti avventura riguardanti la storia. In particolare per questo capitolo (Cap 8).

Mentre siedo alla mia scrivania per scrivere queste parole, odo lo squittio di voci murine ed il grattare di lunghi artigli alla porta. C’è qualcosa che si muove nell’oscurità, dai luoghi da tempo dimenticati del Westeros.

Per secoli l’impero è stato percorso da voci riguardanti orribili mostri che vivono nei cunicoli sotterranei . Le prove sono poche e molti studiosi imperiali sono stati ridicolizzati, esiliati o addirittura condannati per le loro affermazioni sulla veridicità di tali orrori. Li chiamano ‘ Skaven’ , maligni ratti giganti che camminano su due zampe in una disgustosa parodia degli uomini e che tramano di rovesciare coloro che abitano la superficie del loro vasto ‘Impero sotterraneo’. Da tempo sono convinto che ci sia un fondo di verità in suddette voci e questa volta le prove sono dinnanzi agli occhi di tutti.

O mio amato lettore tieni conto queste diversioni e sorridi, finchè sei in grado, perchè la verità sulla nostra fine imminente è fin troppo vicina.

Io li ho visti credetemi… tormentano i miei sogni da tempo. E’ colpa mia, non dovevo andare oltre. E’ troppo tardi oramai. E’ pur difficile credere a questa cosa, ma io li ho visti… li ho visti tormentano i miei sogni… i miei sogni. Non ho più sogni, ho oramai incubi… peste e maledizione… morte e redenzione.

Di seguito vi riporto i commenti  riguardanti la formazione del gruppo:

“Due parole su la mia idea della mia campagna a D&D 3.5, se deciderete che io faccia io il DM ( PG di qualsiasi allineamento ad eccezione del Caotico Malvagio per mia incapacita’ nel gestirlo preferibilmente pero’ malvagi ) Una zona dominata dal bene con PNG quasi sempre buoni da affrontare in cui il gruppo malvagio dovra’ districarsi lottando sia col bene soprattutto, ma anche con il male che comunque non e’ certo suo alleato, potete usare qualsiasi classe o cdp preferite anche psionici e qualsiasi razza giocabile. Livello ancora da definire ma presumibilmente medio/alto. Si gioca almeno una volta a settimana o ogni 10 giorni serale dopo le 21 o pomeridiana solo sabato e domenica da definire poi “

“  per il nuovo gruppo di D&D 3.5 che volevo creare al momento siamo 1 PG sicuro e in forse altri 3 PG piu’ il sottoscritto come eventuale DM quindi di effettivi siamo solo 2 ( 1 DM + 1 PG ) chiunque volesse aggregarsi basta che replichi a questo commento. Tendo a precisare che e’ possibile fare qualsiasi razza giocabile anche liv. adj. alto, e classi psioniche.

Inoltre ho gia’ parlato con una responsabile della Ludoteca e visto che nessun’altro ad eccezione di un mio gruppo di gioco (almeno a Grottammare che io sappia) ha provato l’esperienza del nuovo D&D 4ed. mi piacerebbe visto che ormai sono 6 mesi che ci giochiamo creare un nuovo gruppo D&D 4ed. di basso livello ( del resto anche noi siamo ancora di basso livello )si giocherebbe in Ludoteca Stile Libero a Grottammare il venerdi’ dopo le 21 chi fosse interessato replichi a questo commento. Qui momentaneamente sono solo io come DM quindi servirebbero almeno 4 giocatori. “

Con un movimento del braccio destro, il conte estrasse il pugnale legato in vita.  Tagliando di netto l’aria, lo abbasso diretto sul corpo della creatura.

-”MALEDETTO PELOR! COME E’ ARRIVATO FIN QUI!!! FA IN MODO CHE SPARISCA DALLA MIA VISTA!” Il Signore si alzò nervosamento dalla sedia rovesciandola sul pavimento.

-” Me ne vado…non ho più appetito.”
